The Garage Sale Kids

Zann presenta su nuevo aporte al mundillo del rock indie, el hardcore, el punk rock y la música en general, The Garage Sale Kids. En un lanzamiento doble, el primero para nuestro humilde sello, presentamos la banda engendro de la mente de Kid Kali, el hijo no reconocido de Gene Simmons y la diosa hindú de la destrucción, Kali. Acompañado por Astro McFly en voz, Linda McDonald's en batería y Gratefull Ed en bajo, Kid Kali nos escupe dos discos de instantáneos himnos hardcore punk que le dibujarían una sonrisa al mismo Jello mientras asiente con la cabeza, aunque quizás hasta lo hagan vacilar un poco.

Su primer lanzamiento, Kalifornia, viene acompañado en esta edición de Zann's Music por The Christmas EP, canciones navideñas llenas de amor y odio, como regalo de fin de año.

News that fell from the sky

Anyone converging to this end of the blogsphere might be wondering what's going on at Zann's Music right now. Yes, you might say this blog is not updated regularly, but who really cares anyway? Well my fellow disciples are keeping themselves busy with some of their fancy experimental projects and crazy sounds.

Let me introduce you to The Lists (provisory name so far), our acoustic/folk/grunge duo constituted by Carla and Fernando. Beautiful songs, most of the time minimalist in the vein of Pavement, The Evens, Levellers, Sugar, Neil Young and so on. Music not to summon the Old Ones but mainly to free us from their oppression. Their record is already recorded and ready to be released in the following days.

Garage Sale Kids, "...the most obscure, trashy and awesome cartoonish band in the post_pop_hardcore era!" (that's how they call themselves, exclamation included) are from L.A. and fronted by the demon son of a violent sexual relationship between Gene Simmons and the evil goddess of destruction, Kali. Check for their record pretty soon if you are into The Minutemen, Black Flag, Red Kross, Dead Kennedys, Minor Threat, Tragedy and Kiss (?)

Even though we do not take drugs (excepting on the occasions we do take them), we do dig psychedelic and abrasive music. Well El Rancho (Javier Alcalde from Joseph Merrick, Jeremías Stutz from Sick Porky and Manuel) and A Blink of Brahma (provisory name so far, Fernando, Manuel and Fernando Amaya), are the acoustic/industrial twin brothers of Silence in First Degree which you should check soon if you are into Pink Floyd, Earth (El Rancho), Jesu, Throbbing Gristle, Halo (A Blink...)

The Zann Sessions, a series of sonic explorations performed by different members of the Zann rooster (call it, whatever they felt like recording that day) are ready to be released. Check back for Volume 1 which will feature sonic constructions performed by Manuel's own home made electronics. Dark noise/ambient music in the vein of James Plotkin, Bastard Noise, Merzbow, Lustmord or Vidna Obmana, for your listening pleasure.
